Business Development Internship Pathways Overview

(Associate Degree | Undergraduate | Graduate)

Internship Immersion offers structured, paid Business Development internship and workforce‑entry pathways designed to bridge academic completion with professional execution. The programs are intentionally long‑form, outcomes‑driven, and tied directly to career entry rather than short‑term exposure.

All pathways are built around real business   work, professional education, and supported transitions into the workforce.

Program Philosophy

Internship Immersion is not a traditional internship program. It is a workforce‑entry system designed to:

  • Pay interns because they contribute real value

  • Extend long enough to build confidence, competence, and accountability

  • Prioritize employment outcomes over program completion

  • Respect academic timelines while demanding professional standards

  • All internships are W‑2 paid positions with no benefits.

Undergraduate & Graduate Pathways

Phase I: Summer Immersion

  • June – August

  • 10–12 weeks

  • Full‑time (40 hours per week)

  • Hybrid, majority in‑office

Focus:

  • Professional onboarding

  • Core business development skill building

  • Immediate contribution to live BD initiatives

Phase II: Academic‑Year Professional Placement

  • August – March

  • 10–15 hours per week

  • Runs alongside the student’s final academic year

Focus:

  • Sustained responsibility

  • Execution consistency

  • Workforce readiness

  • Program Conclusion End of March

From January through March, Internship Immersion and Good Ventures talent recruiters actively assist interns with post‑graduation workforce placement, including opportunities with:

  • Internship Immersion

  • Good Ventures

  • Good Ventures affiliates

  • External employer partners

(Summer Phase Bonus)

  • Interns participate in a structured Business Development education series focused on BD as a transferable skillset across industries and job titles.

  • Education & Speaker Series

  • Weekly Education Cadence

  • One internal session per week, presented by Good Ventures or Internship Immersion:  Founders, Executives, Advisors and Board members

  • One external guest speaker per week; Speakers from outside the Good Ventures ecosystem

  • Focus on how BD skills apply across sectors and career paths

  • Each session includes live Q&A and practical context.

Associate Degree Pathway: (2‑Year Extended Fellowship Program)

Target Participant

2‑year associate degree or community college program students that intend to enter the workforce directly, without immediately pursuing a 4‑year degree.

Program Distinction

This pathway is intentionally different from the undergraduate and graduate internship models.

Associate‑degree participants do not begin the program before graduation. Instead, they enter the program after completing their associate degree, allowing for full focus on professional development and execution.

Program Structure

Program Length: 2 years

Start Date: Summer following associate degree completion

Work Commitment:

  • 25–35 hours per week in paid business development roles

  • Education Commitment:

  • 3–6 hours per week of structured Business Development curriculum

Credential Earned:

Business Development Certificate upon program completion

This pathway is designed to:

  • Provide a serious alternative to the traditional 4‑year degree‑to‑career pathway

  • Offer extended, mentored workforce entry rather than short‑term exposure

  • Build professional identity, responsibility, and execution depth over time

  • Demonstrate that long‑term career readiness is driven by skills and performance, not pedigree

  • Workforce Outcomes

By the end of the two‑year program, participants are positioned for:

  • Full‑time business development or growth roles

  • Continued employment with Internship Immersion, Good Ventures, affiliates, or external partners

  • Sustainable career trajectories without additional degree debt
